A few days before the start of the new 20th century, gathered his entire noisy, large family in a luxurious living room, Hermann Merz does not doubt for a second that his children and grandchildren will live in a kingdom of reason and beauty, scientific progress, philosophy and art...
In 1955, in this very same living room, Rose, Nathan and Leo meet – three “fragments” of a once huge family, the only ones who managed to survive the fire of the 20th century…
